South Sound Legends & Tales is a collection of short stories by Kali Kucera that bring out the quirky and enigmatic nature of Puget Sound’s southern realm.

Playing on a combination of local history and the traditions of storytelling, we have in this compendium a new set of lore and mythology not just for South Sound residents, but for everyone to enjoy, to spin and retell, and most importantly, to make us wonder.

As with all PapaKali stories, it’s no mistake to find characters in one story surface in another completely unrelated one, as this creates the pantheon of characters out of which further lore is written. Hence there is no set organization to reading this book, no beginning, and certainly no end. Just dive in wherever, and hopefully you’ll get an upward wrinkle in the corner of your lip.
